LATN 1002: Elementary Latin II

3 Credit Hours

Prerequisite: LATN 1001 , or by placement, or the equivalent
Continued study of Latin grammar and syntax begun in LATN 1001, with further reading and translation.


Course Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to: 

  1. Identify and describe characteristics of the target language system and show proficiency by communicating in the target language in written and/or oral form.
  2. Identify the value and role of literary and cultural texts and use them to interpret and reflect upon the perspectives of the target cultures over time.
  3. Gather, evaluate, synthesize, and present cultural information.
  4. Analyze and interpret the meaning, cultural significance, and ethical implications of literary and non-literary texts.
  5. Enhance their intercultural competence by examining how ancient Roman people engaged with everyday life and comparing these practices to modern-day counterparts.
